Established in 1997, Swim Leeds has nearly 30 years of experience teaching children to swim in small, supportive classes. We welcome children aged four and upwards for 30-minute lessons at The Grammar School at Leeds.
Our fully qualified instructors are carefully selected for their caring manner and the encouragement they give young swimmers. For beginner lessons, instructors teach in the water, with a qualified lifeguard in attendance at every session.
Children work towards swimming badges and awards as they progress, celebrating new skills and growing confidence in the water.
Our swimming lessons for kids in Leeds support children from their first introduction to the pool through to more advanced swimming.
Our friendly, fully qualified swimming tutors bring a caring approach to every lesson. For beginners, our instructors teach in the water, with at least one qualified lifeguard at every session.

I founded WB Swimming in 1997, with the aim of providing superb water-based instruction in small classes. Swim teaching is my passion; there is nothing more rewarding for me than seeing a child swim unaided for the first time and the look of pride and joy on a parent’s face. I believe that anyone can learn to swim at any age and that the key to fast development and progress is a small student-to-teacher ratio in a relaxed, friendly environment.

I love to engage with the children I teach and really enjoy seeing them progress through guided discovery and play. I adapt my teaching style to the specific needs of each child and always challenge my children to do their very best in a fun and encouraging way. Previously a primary school teacher, I made the transition into teaching children to swim. Through experience I know that small class sizes work better in any arena, as the child is given more attention and coaching points.
Our lessons take place at The Grammar School at Leeds, in a spacious 25-metre pool. With poolside spectator seating and convenient on-site parking, it’s a welcoming setting for swimmers and their families.

Swim Leeds offers lessons for children aged four and upwards, including older beginners.
Beginner instructors teach in the water, with small groups allowing individual encouragement. Tell us about any worries when you enquire so we can discuss a suitable starting point.
Lessons last 30 minutes. The published teaching ratio is one instructor to four or five pupils.
